About the lecture:
The lecture will include an insight into the history of the post-war redevelopment of the City of Gdańsk, with a special focus on the post-transformation stage (after 1989). Both general reflection on the nature and character of the process and a discussion of particular examples will be provided. In conclusion, a few points regarding the possible application of these experiences in the case of Ukrainian cities will be provided.

About the lecturer:
Prof. Piotr Lorens – Ph.D., DSc., urban planner. Gdańsk City Architect; Head of the Department of Urban Design and Regional Planning at the Faculty of Architecture, Gdansk University of Technology. His professional interests include urban planning and regeneration processes, with a special focus on waterfront areas and public spaces. Associated with the Polish Academy of Sciences, ICOMOS, TICCIH, ISOCARP, and Society of Polish Town Planners.
