About the lectures:
Detlef Kurth will give an overview of the main objectives of the DAAD-project „Ukraine digital“, which supports six universities of Architecture and Urban Planning in Ukraine since 2022 with common teaching modules, workshops, a learning platform and scholarships. Examining the intersection of identity struggles amidst warfare and colonial policies, Liza Evseeva will discuss the architectural and monumental art history of 20th-century Ukraine, focusing on the Nova Kakhovka ensemble as an example. We‘ll explore the national revival‘s third wave and engage with the fourth wave fueled by local movements for heritage preservation.
