Prof. Dr. Stefan Greiving is a spatial planner and has more than 25 years’ experience in dealing with extreme events, crises and climate change in urban and regional planning. He is head of the Institute of Spatial Planning (IRPUD) at TU Dortmund University since 2011. Prof. Greiving runs also the consultancy company “plan + risk consult” which is based in Dortmund. He is author of about 200 publications and has been in charge of more than 30 international and 80 national research projects and advisory statements. The geographical scope of his research encompasses the entire Europe, but also the Global South (Africa, Asia, Latin America). 

The lecture will be moderated by Prof. Dr. Detlef Kurth.

The lecture is part of the follow-up lecture series “Challenges and Perspectives for resilient post-war cities in Ukraine” in the context of integrated urban development and the New Leipzig Charter. Experts from academia and practice will contribute with their expertise from international projects as well as from the Ukrainian and German context. Hence, we like to go on with the dialogue about the major challenges and open up future perspectives for resilient Ukrainian cities.

The lecture series is part of the project „Reconstruction Modules Ukraine“ and funded by the DAAD program „Ukraine Digital“.
